Interlibrary Loan (ILLO) is a service provided free of charge to patrons. It allows you to request material that is not available at any of the 14 branches in the Wellington County Library System. Requests can be made at any branch or through our online form.
Things to Know
- We do our best to locate items from other Ontario public libraries. Items are shipped by Canada Post for pick-up at your local branch.
- We can only request items that are older than 6 months. For new material, please contact your local branch or log into My Account to make a suggestion for purchase.
- Include as much information about the item as possible. Full title, author, publisher, and ISBN can typically be found through national book retailers.
- A maximum of 3 requests per patron can be submitted at a time. This includes ILLO items currently checked out, on hold, or pending.
- Please note that delivery time can take between 2 to 8 weeks. If you would like to check the status of your ILLO request, please contact staff.
- You will be notified if an item is not available for interlibrary loan.
- Please notify staff as soon as possible if an item is no longer needed. We may be able to cancel your ILLO request prior to shipping.
- Renewals must be done in person or over the phone and should be processed before the final due date. Please note renewals are not always possible.
