Young writers, get ready! The annual Olive and Fred Robins Junior Short Story Contest kicks off Wednesday, October 1 and we can’t wait to read what you come up with.

This contest is all about creativity and imagination, and it’s open to students in Grades 4, 5, and 6 who live or go to school in Wellington County. Write your own original short story (500–750 words) and send it in between October 1 and October 31.

“We love seeing the creativity that comes through every year,” says Danielle Drimmie, Information Services Librarian, Programming. “It’s such a fun way for kids to practice their writing and share their stories with the community.”

Here’s the best part: two winners will each get $150 and their stories will be published on the Wellington County Library website and submitted to the Wellington Advertiser.

So, grab your pencils, open a blank doc, and let your imagination run wild.
