Here at Wellington County Library, we are proud to recognize Ontario Public Library Week (OPLW), which highlights the invaluable role libraries play in enhancing the lives of individuals and communities across Ontario. From October 20 to 26, new visitors and existing library lovers are invited to join the celebration.
October is also Canadian Library Month, a time when libraries and their partners across Canada come together to raise awareness about the essential services they provide. Each year, WCL circulates nearly one million items and receives more than half a million visitors.
“Libraries are community hubs where visitors receive service, support, education, and entertainment,” says Rebecca Hine, our Chief Librarian. “We invite everyone in Wellington County – whether a lifelong library user or first-time visitor - to celebrate the vital role libraries play in fostering learning, creativity, and community engagement during this special week.”
As a token of appreciation, visitors to any branch during OPLW can replace any lost or damaged cards free of charge and enter a draw to win a free book. We look forward to seeing you!
