Online Card Registration

A Wellington County Library card is free to anyone living, attending or teaching school, or owning property in Wellington County. A current library card is required to borrow any items in our collection or to access our online resources. 

Adults and teens can register using the form below. Please note that it cannot be used for children 13 and under, existing card renewals, or non-resident card registrations, which must be completed in person.

Staff will email you once a temporary card has been issued. Please visit your local branch with photo ID and proof of address to activate your membership. We look forward to welcoming you!

Non-Resident Cards

Non-resident cards and reciprocal borrowing cards are issued in person only.  Non-residents cards are available at an annual cost of $240.00. A monthly payment option is also available. 

You may be entitled to a free Wellington County Library card if you live in the area of, and pay taxes that fund, one of these library systems:

  • Cambridge Libraries and Galleries
  • Guelph Public Library
  • Halton Hills Public Library
  • Hamilton Public Library
  • Huron County Library
  • Milton Public Library
  • Perth County Information Network 
  • Region of Waterloo Public Library 

Please note that as of December 15, 2026, current reciprocal cards will no longer have access to online resources. Reciprocal cardholders who wish to continue accessing these services, including Libby, may purchase a non-resident card.
